I have the good fortune to play a wide variety of music, having been raised on Bluegrass, Bach, Buck and Bossa Nova. (thanks mom and dad!) You’ll find a little of all of them in my different bands on this page.

Miles & Karina

David Miles Keenan and Nova Karina Devonie – we use our middle names for this duo – is a band that writes music we describe as ‘Mid-Century’, encompassing many genres of the most compelling music of that era in song and instrumental forms. In addition, M&K have been commissioned over a dozen times to compose original scores to films from the Silent Era to which we perform the new music live. Check out my Film Scores page for more info

The Buckaroosters

“All Buck Owens, All The Time”

except sometimes… What started out as a Buck Owens tribute band in 1998 as an authentic ‘Real Country’ country band that delivers all the hot pickin’, deep grooves and dynamic singing of Classic Country has grown into a band that is at home covering Cash, Hank, Johnny Horton, Jimmy Martin, Patsy and so many of the great ones from “59 to ‘69 - the Golden Era of Country.

I am joined by Nova Karina Devonie - bass & vocals Kelly Van Camp - drums, harmonica & vocals Dan Tyack - pedal steel

The Downtown Mountain Boys

For over two decades The DownTown Mountain Boys, based in Seattle, Washington, has been the Pacific Northwest’s most exciting and accomplished bluegrass band. Veteran bluegrassers and recording artists Terry Enyeart (bass, lead and harmony vocals), Dave Keenan (banjo, fiddle, lead and harmony vocals), Don Share (guitar, lead and harmony vocals), Tom Moran (Mandolin) and Paul Elliott (fiddle), seen for years in such popular bands as Ranch Romance, Rural Delivery, The Sons of the Pioneers, Rainy Pass, and Who’s Driving?, have come together in a match made in musical heaven. Take three-part harmonies that send shivers up your spine, add dazzling instrumental firepower, and you have the sound of The DownTown Mountain Boys
